Intervention Summary
Teach For America (TFA) and Teaching Fellows programs are two alternative routes to teacher certification that recruit and train teachers to teach in low-income school districts. TFA focuses on recent college graduates and requires a two-year commitment to teaching, while Teaching Fellows programs focus on both recent college graduates and midcareer professionals and encourage a long-term commitment to teaching. Both programs provide an intensive summer training program and ongoing support to their teachers.
