About the Intervention

READ 180 is a reading program designed for struggling readers who are reading 2 or more years below grade level, targeting students in grades 4-12. The program provides blended learning instruction combining digital media with traditional classroom instruction, delivered in 45- to 90-minute sessions. Sessions include whole-group instruction (20 minutes), three small-group rotations (20 minutes each: individualized computer application, small-group instruction with teacher, and independent reading), and whole-class wrap-up (10 minutes). The program includes an interactive workbook (rBook), adaptive computer software with six zones (Explore, Reading, Language, Fluency, Writing, Success), and access to over 100 paperbacks, eBooks, or audiobooks. Teachers receive professional development to implement the program and use ongoing assessment data to individualize instruction.
